In short
Painted kitchens can be any colour you like. These are the things we tell everyone before they choose.
Grey's had a good run
For years grey was the safe choice. We're coming out the other side of it now, with a lot more greens, some really deep blues and the occasional bordeaux if someone's feeling brave.
Colours with some warmth to them look incredible next to a good worktop and the right handles. If you're still defaulting to grey because it feels safe, it's worth coming in to see what else is out there.
Why the colour looks different at home
It sounds a bit sciency, but bear with us. When you put colours next to each other, the one in the middle looks different to how it looks on its own. It's just how our eyes work.
So a sample picked in the showroom, surrounded by everything else, won't look the same in your own light. Where you can, see it at home over a few days, in the morning and the evening, before you decide. Ask us about samples when you visit.
Warm white or cool white lighting?
Ten years ago everyone wanted cool white lighting. It's closer to daylight and good for prep, but it also makes a kitchen feel clinical.
Warm white changes the whole feel of the room. Materials look richer and the space feels like somewhere you want to be. We use warm white as standard now, and once you've seen it, it's hard to go back.
Any colour, done properly
We chose pink for one of our showroom kitchens to be a little different, and so people remember it. It's soft rather than loud, and it shows what happens when you stop picking from the same five safe colours.
If pink isn't your thing, don't worry. It's there to show what we can do: any colour you can think of, made properly.
